COVID-19 VIEWINGS – CHECKLIST

Our primary concern is for the health and wellbeing of you and our staff. While we appreciate this may cause some inconvenience, this primary concern is paramount.

Below is our checklist of how viewings should be carried out to comply with government guidelines:

  • All first viewings will be virtual – where any high-resolution Property Videos and Virtual Tours give a superb remote look around properties.
  • No open viewings are permitted.
  • Before any physical viewings can be arranged, we will require the Seller to confirm if they or anyone in their household are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, are self-isolating or are shielding. Unless the Seller can answer no to all of these, we will not arrange any physical viewings until such time as the Seller can answer no to all. If the Seller is not shielding but is clinically vulnerable, we would recommend that, if at all possible, the Seller has a substitute attend in their place.
  • Before any physical viewings can be arranged, we will require the Viewer to confirm if they or anyone in their household are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, are self-isolating or are shielding. Unless the Viewer can answer no to all of these, we will not arrange any physical viewings until such time as the Viewer can answer no to all. If the Viewer is not shielding but is clinically vulnerable, we would recommend that, if at all possible, the Viewer has a substitute attend in their place.
  • Viewing parties should only consist of people from the same household and include the minimum number of people who must be there. If viewers need to be accompanied by young children, they should be kept from touching surfaces and their hands should be washed/sanitised regularly.
  • We recommend that Sellers and Viewers wear a face covering. A face covering is a non-medical covering of the mouth and nose, usually made of breathable fabric, for example a scarf. It is not a hospital face mask.
  • The Seller should provide hand washing facilities and using separate towels/paper towels if possible, which should be washed or disposed of safely.
  • Viewers should bring their own hand sanitiser and apply this thoroughly before entering the property. They should also avoid touching surfaces or furniture.
  • Prior to the viewing, Sellers should open all internal doors and ensure all surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned after each viewing.
  • Where possible Sellers should vacate their property while viewings are taking place, unless the Seller is conducting the viewing. This is in order to minimise contact with those not in their household.
  • If a viewing agent is present, social distancing guidelines should be followed at all times.
  • Before and after each viewing the Seller should ensure all surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned with standard household cleaning products and towels are disposed of safely or washed as appropriate.
  • Please make sure that at all times Scottish Government guidelines are followed – these can be read here.

Thank you for your cooperation.
