Kitted up for success: New sports strips for North Berwick High School with Coulters’ Support

When we expanded into East Lothian last year, we were committed to supporting the local community. So, when we heard about North Berwick High School finding sporting success while wearing old kits, we decided it was time to lend a helping hand.

North Berwick High School is already providing fantastic and very fruitful extra-curricular programmes to its pupils with a whole range of activities. Their dedication to living up to their motto “Aim Higher” has led to the students excelling in their chosen sports, with the NBHS U15 Netball team recently winning Bronze at The World Schools Netball Cup and the senior basketball team winning the Scottish Schools Cup – I’m sure you’ll agree a huge achievement for all involved! They have also had a number of pupils participating in sport for their local county over the years, including reaching Scottish Cup Finals and British Championships. To celebrate this continued success, it is fitting that the North Berwick High School teams have suitably impressive sports kits.

This is where Coulters come in – we’ve teamed up with NBHS to supply new sports kit for over 300 children taking part in a variety of sports. This year the football, netball, golf and basketball teams will receive new kits with further plans in 2020 to provide for the rugby and hockey teams too. Ben Di Rollo, Coulters’ director, believes, “It’s important that the pupils, regardless of their sports discipline, have up to date kit and for a school which wins Scottish Cup finals and reaches British Championships, all pupils should be able to wear their school colours with pride.”

Alan Macdonald, the PT of Health and Wellbeing at NBHS is as enthusiastic as we are. He very kindly said, “We are delighted to receive support from Coulters. They have been creative, approachable and supportive in helping us plan new kit designs for our sports teams. We look forward to working with them as we continue to enhance the sporting community here at North Berwick High School.”

It is a cause that is close to our hearts, with our very own Sophie Duns having benefited from their impressive academic and extracurricular achievements; “Having attended NBHS myself as a pupil and studied Physical Education at university, I am really excited and proud to be supporting the school’s extra-curricular sports teams. Participating in sports is proven to have an enormous impact on lifelong health and wellbeing so it’s great to be giving back.”

The ever-eager students also had a hand in designing the new kits and have prominently included their motto to reflect the always ambitious culture within the school.

We can’t wait to continue working with North Berwick High School and watching their continuing success on the pitch, court and now golf course. All while looking as good as they play.
